Although now a star of stage, Churchill made his name on the small screen.  In 2009 he’s starred in car insurance adverts featuring famous friends such as Rolf Harris, Roy Walker and the beautiful Melanie Sykes.  We’ve also seen him take part in a karaoke competition, end up at an audition for Cats and attend a garden party at the palace!

And it looks as though 2010 will continue in a similar way for Churchill who has released his next two ads exclusively early online.  One shows everyone’s favourite nodding dog doing a parachute jump whilst the other sees him off skiing with Eddie “the Eagle” Edwards!

Craig Revel Horwood revels in the role of the bad guy. Whether he’s being the picky judge on Strictly Come Dancing or playing the Wicked Queen in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, it seems that he’s always being booed! But Churchill’s agent Marty Hoffman spoke to him earlier this week and reported that he is a “swell guy”…

Marty: So who’s going to win Strictly?
Craig: I have no idea. That’s going to be entirely up to the audience but I think Ali and Ricky are front runners. People seem to love Chris too so I think he has got an equal chance to be honest.
There are always plenty of those voted off who should have stayed to the final because the public generally all decide for themselves who they like. No matter what the judges seem to say the public usually get their way.
There have been people that I really loved every series that go off but there is nothing you can do about that. Martina Hingis for instance was the first out although she was a really lovely dancer. But it’s equally about popularity as how good dancers they are.

Marty: Who do you think’s been the best dancer in all the Strictly series?
Craig: Alesha [Dixon] was a fantastic, brilliant dancer. Jill Halfpenny was also amazing and someone who really came from nowhere was Mark Ramprakash. I thought he was incredible.

Marty: How do you think Alesha’s done as a judge on the show?
Craig: She has well and truly settled into her new role. She was in th eline of fire a bit last weekend and she handled it really, really well. I thought her comments and critiques were very good.

Marty: And you’re in Snow White in Llandudno this year! Is there anyone you’ve been looking forward to working with? No pressure…
Craig: I’m working with Churchill who is my pet. He doesn’t require much feeding and doesn’t bark back, which I like! I also like working with children.

On the Scottish leg of his panto run, Churchill is starring in Robinson Crusoe with Allan Stewart and Grant Stott at the King’s Theatre in Edinburgh, and in Cinderella with Elaine C Smith at His Majesty’s in Aberdeen.

Churchill has been helping the Northamptonshire Police in their Christmas Roadsafe campaign to cut drink and drug driving. Yesterday he met PC Steve Harris to show his support for the annual campaign.

PC Harris, Casualty Reduction Officer at Northamptonshire Police, said: “Anyone who suspects a driver of taking to the wheel under the influence of drink or drugs can call the Drivewatch Hotline, a 24-hour confidential telephone service, on 0800 174615.”

Those nice people at the Theatre Royal, Newcastle are offering free tickets to Cinderella for people under 26 – but you’ll have to hurry!

It’s part of a scheme called “A Night Less Ordinary”, a great Arts Council initiative to encourage people under 26 to go to the theatre. Visit their website at www.anightlessordinary.org.uk – after you’ve booked your tickets, of course!

All you have to do is call the box office on 08448 112121, confirm your performances are available on the scheme and – hey presto! – get your FREE tickets!!

Churchill will be switching on another set of Christmas lights this weekend – this time in Northampton.

There will be a host of activities going on between 11:30am and 5:30pm on Saturday 28th November.  Local breakfast show host Joe Pignatiello will be on-stage in Abington Street with the stars of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.  Churchill and his co-stars will be turning on the lights at 12:45pm.

After a busy week of filming car insurance ads, Churchill is really looking forward to hitting the road and meeting some of his fans!
